The topic of communication was quite obvious for me, as far as my field of interest is design, with is basicly visual communication. But I wanted to discover unobvious ways of it, so it can help me to come out with interesting decisions for my projects in future.
In terms of categorising, the first idea that came to my mind was to split my taxonomies in groups for addressee: whether it is directed to human, not human or something abstract.
Second thought was to divide them by history: tarot cards and religions were the way to communicate long time ago, phones and Internet are nowadays ways, also I could think of the way people will communicate in future.
